Choosing The Right Bra For Women

Bras are one of women’s favorite items, but it is crucial to pick the right one and use them properly.

Choosing the wrong bra can not only cause discomfort and look bad, but it can also cause serious health problems.  Moreover, women often make mistakes when it comes to wearing bras, and not only buying them. By identifying what you are doing wrong you will be able to choose the best bra for your shape and care for your breasts in the best way possible.

Here are some bra mistakes you are probably making.

Straps that are always showing or slipping off:

This sucks if you want to wear a halter or tube top, but still need support. Bandeau suck for anyone that’s not an A cup, but there are actually supportive strapless bras, or ones that have a halter shape to them that still provide support and are comfortable. Silicon straps can also keep everything in place, and add support.

Wearing  a bra that is too small:

If you are tied up with the same bra size for a long time, you have to know that it is not good for your health. The results are bloated tummy and decreased circulation. If you are wearing a small bra size, it will result in restless night and can affect your work performance. So, it is very important to choose the right fit bra.

Using the tightest bra hook:

You might want to immediately use the tightest hook, but this goes back to buying the right band size. You should be able to comfortably progress from looser hooks to tighter ones as your bra stretches with use.

Wrong bra with wrong outfit:

Make sure your bra goes well with your outfit. Though, showing off the bra-straps is the next thing in the trend-list, it might not be the appropriate thing to do in all occasions. There is a thin line between being vulgar and being sexy and most of the people totally mess it up. You do not want to walk into a conference room with your bra strap peeing out of your blouse.

Again, it is equally important to match the cup to the depth of the neckline of your outfit. If you are opting for a dress with a plunging neckline, better go for half-cup bras so that they do not show when you bend a little to pick up if you drop your wallet. Your dress has a deep back? Either go for a backless bra or one with a transparent back. Moreover, if the material of your ensemble is sheer or transparent try and match the color of your bra to your outfit.

Wearing a bra when the band rides up your back:

The back band of your bra should always be level to the floor. It shouldn’t have a ‘wave’ effect on your mid back nor should it ever be higher than the under-wire in the front. If your band goes up in the back you do not have a proper fit!  Bras should fit well when fastened on the middle hook so if yours does not, you most likely have the wrong size.  Also be careful to get the right size band because if you don’t, you might end up with the dreaded back bulge

Wearing a bra all the time:

Everybody have a favorite bra we want to use every day, but you should not use it for more than two consecutive days. Fasteners need a break so that elastic fibers can regain their elasticity.  While it’s not really a hygiene issue (depending on what you do in your bra), it’s actually harmful for the longevity of your bra. Giving your bra some time off allows the elastic to reset itself and maintain a higher level of firmness for a longer period of time.

Choosing bra by cup size:

You are making a mistake if you depend on cup size to choose your bra. In this case you should try numerical band size. Cup size is not standard. It means that you might be D with one band size, but E with another band size.
