Nigerians Celebrate 55 Independence, Amid Darkness.

Yesterday 1st October, 2015 was the day Nigeria marked her independence. It was supposed to be a day of celebration, joy and remembrance of those who liberated this country from the Slave Master of Colonialism. These heroes are Nnamdi Azikiwe, Herbert Macauley, Obafemi Awolowo, Tafawa Balewa, Chief Margeret Ekpo and others. I believe that when they fought for this country they never envisioned that the country they are fighting for, would be a country stricken with poverty, corruption, thievery, tribalism, nepotism, high rate of unemployment, under-development, weak mind, absolute darkness, accidents, deaths, lack of infrastructure, poor road network, poor health institutions, decay of education institutions, and finally terrorism.
I believe that when these distinguished founding fathers championed the cause of liberation they hoped to build a Nation with riches, prosperity, development, peace and unity.
A survey conducted yesterday and concluded today by approcco.com showed that Many Nigerians celebrated the Independence day amid no power supply. Around Oshodi down to Isolo, Ikotun, Ejigbo and Idimu in Lagos State. Approcco.com gathered that elsewhere in other state as Ebonyi, Enugu, Sokoto, Edo, there was complete darkness throughout the celebrated day.
The people are fustrated and tired at the way the current power authorities and co are operating. They wondered why should the Power Authorities seize electric power on Independence day? When they were supposed to use electricity at home to mark the holiday and follow the events concerning Independence showing on National TVs to relax and enjoy. But this Power Authorities never changed their culture of seizing electricity on important days as Independence Day.
The question raised is?, were is the change President Muhammad Buhari promised us with? Why is everything stagnant and degrading? More than hundred days in office nothing is yet to surface in the lives of Nigerians only in medias and papers. Nigerians are being pushed to a point were the only choice is to react back and I promise you it will be chaotic. Its never too late now for all public officers to retrace their step and act quickly to ease the suffering of Nigerians.
I am suggesting to Mr President to solve the challenges of power failure in this country with utmost priority then every other things will begin to fall in place.
