THIS IS NOT "ATHLEISURE": MODEL ADRIANNE HO GIVES COOL WORKOUT GEAR AN UNFUSSY UPGRADE

Exercise clothes that feel right, whether you're running a 10Km  or working out in some way.

Since its induction into the portmanteau canon, "athleisure"—somewhere between "permalance" and "jeggings"—has topped my list of words to kill. To me, "athleisure" is neither athletic nor leisurely. It's dozens of caffeinated New Yorkers rushing the door of a boutique fitness pop-up wearing printed compression tights. Happily, Adrianne Ho of Sweat the Style agrees. The Canadian model, fit person, and now designer joined forces with PacSun to create Sweat Crew, a collection of cool, unfussy workout gear that feels right, whether you're running a 10K or skating outside the Supreme store. Just don't call it "athleisure," her PacSun rep told WWD.

The clothes riff on Ho's favorite menswear pieces. A massive sweatshirt in dusty rose reveals flashes of skin, for example, when you unzip the sides. Like a modern "subway coat," a big reversible baseball jacket goes to and from the gym. A pair of ultra-light camouflage leggings have a back pocket big enough for an iPhone 6S. An easy favorite, albeit one that's all woman: Sweat Crew's harness sports bra has a zipper up the front, a solution to the agony of taking off a drenched bra after an especially vigorous workout.
