Two men were walking with their wives through Rhodes Park when they were approached by a gang of 12 men on Saturday, 17 October 2015.
At the time of the attack, the gang tied up the husbands and threw them in a dam, where they drowned.One of the woman was gang raped by at least 12 men while the second woman managed to escape.
The police’s Lungelo Dlamini said,
“The police are appealing to anyone with information, who may identify the suspects who attacked the two men who were walking with their wives. It’s alleged that the suspects tied up the men, threw them into the dam, and one woman was raped.”
Only one suspect has been arrested so far.
